The Department carries on the tradition of the 'Faculty of Law' of Messina, home of prestigious 'Schools' of legal thought and breeding ground for brilliant young jurists capable of achieving ambitious professional goals in the legal world, academia, and top qualityn national and international institutions.
Modern support structures for teaching and research, efficient administrative services, and continuously updated teaching offering aim to further improve the already high level of preparation and competitiveness of graduates.
The Department constantly promotes Third Mission activities, aimed at valorising, transferring and disseminating of knowledge, pursuing an ever-increasing interaction with civil society, and fostering the social, cultural and economic development of the territory.

The teaching offer for the 2024/2025 academic year is based on:
• a 5-year integrated master degree in Law (LMG-01), which responds to the most up-to-date demands for legal education. This course is offered both at the Messina site and at the accredited site in Priolo Gargallo (SR), in which a three-year basic course is followed by a two-year professionalisation course, structured in three paths: 'Forensics'; 'Business, Labour and Public Administration'; 'International and European'. Students can choose their preferred path at the beginning of the fourth year.
• a Bachelor Degree Course in Employment Consultant and Legal Services Sciences (L-14), within which a new Curriculum in Criminology and Private Investigation Sciences has been activated, in addition to the Curriculum in Legal Operator in Public Administrations and Enterprises, and the Curriculum in Employment Consultant and security expert. The latter is offered both at the Messina site and at the accredited Priolo Gargallo (SR) site.
• A Master Degree Course in Innovation and Sustainability Law (LM/SC-GIUR), which represents a unique and innovative offering in the local context, providing advanced knowledge of the legal effects that the eco-digital shift has on business and public sector activities, along with specific IT and economic-managerial skills.
• A three-year degree course, entirely in English, in Transnational and European Legal Studies (Classe L-14), that provides in-depth basic training for those who wish to study the transnational and European dimension of the legal sciences, thus aiming to train a legal practitioner with skills specifically oriented to transnational and European law.
