Modern facilities supporting teaching and research, efficient administrative services, and continually updated educational offerings are designed to further enhance the already high level of preparation and competitiveness of graduates.
The Department of Law has been awarded, by the Ministry of University and Research, the status of Department of Excellence for the 2023–2027 period. Indeed, Law 232 of 2016 provides for the establishment of a Fund to reward those institutions distinguished by excellence in the quality of research and in scientific, organizational, and educational projects. This prestigious recognition (granted, for the legal field, to only 15 institutions throughout Italy) confirms a tradition that has always placed the Messina School of Law among the top in the national landscape.
The teaching offer for the 2025/2026 academic year is based on:
• a 5-year integrated master degree in Law (LMG-01) (the degree course is also offered at the Syracuse Campus, currently undergoing accreditation), which responds to the most up-to-date demands for legal education. This course is offered both at the Messina site and at the accredited site in Priolo Gargallo (SR), in which a three-year basic course is followed by a two-year professionalisation course, structured in three paths: 'Forensics'; 'Business, Labour and Public Administration'; 'International and European'. Students can choose their preferred path at the beginning of the fourth year.
• A Master Degree Course in Innovation and Sustainability Law (LM/SC-GIUR), which represents a unique and innovative offering in the local context, providing advanced knowledge of the legal effects that the eco-digital shift has on business and public sector activities, along with specific IT and economic-managerial skills.
• a Bachelor Degree Course in Employment Consultant and Legal Services Sciences (L-14), which includes: a Curriculum in Employment Consultant and security expert (offered also at the Syracuse Campus, currently undergoing accreditation), a Curriculum in Criminology and Private Investigation Sciences, and e Curriculum in Legal Operator in Public Administrations and Enterprises.
• A Bachelor Degree Course in Transnational and European Legal Studies (Classe L-14), entirely in English, that provides in-depth basic training for those who wish to study the transnational and European dimension of the legal sciences, thus aiming to train a legal practitioner with skills specifically oriented to transnational and European law.
• The postgraduate educational programs includes the School of Specialization for Legal Professions, the Doctorate in Legal Sciences, First and Second Level Masters, and Higher Education Courses.
