The three-year degree course in Employment Consultant and Legal Services Science aims to train professionals with specific skills able to operate in a specialised sector of relevant interest for the productive forces of the territory. It provides students with a solid basic cultural and legal preparation, knowledge of specific areas of the Italian and European legal system, and particular skills in the economic and business field. Thus, it will enable students to achieve a professional approach to the work activities in which they will be employed.
The training offer ensures knowledge of a second European language, with particular reference to the specific technical-legal language, and mastery of sophisticated IT competencies. It is completed with an innovative vocational pathway, which is enriched by practical workshops and the experience of training and orientation internships.
The new and modern model of the teaching plan combines theoretical notions and activities with a practical-professional bent, which emphasizes teaching sessions functional to the most current professional outlets, aimed at acquiring the specialised skills required by the labour market, and achieves a real and effective rapprochement between university education and work.
The training on offer includes professionalising internships and apprenticeships at institutions, national and international companies, public administrations, courts, professionals, employment consultants, and investigation agencies, with a view of enabling students to deal with the job market and acquire the corresponding skills.
Laboratories, based on state-of-the-art techniques, will be set up in the area of business crisis management, in line with the new competences attributed to labour consultants. Moreover, they will be offered workshops on business contracts, corporate welfare, public administration contracts, private law of robotics and artificial intelligence, protection of personal data and computer crimes, in order to face the new challenges of the digital era. The training activities also include workshops, simulations, contract drafting and company data collection, and the preparation of payroll and financial statements.

The course guarantees the training of professionals capable of operating in the labour, private, public,economic and criminal law areas and specifically in the area of consultancy and personnel management on behalf of small, medium and/or large enterprises, in the economic, legal, social security and social welfare areas, and in the management of company crises, in line with the most current employment outlets, recognised by recent legislation.
The knowledge acquired during the course will enable students to operate on the various structural fronts of business activity: from personnel selection and training to hygiene and prevention in the workplace, from cost analysis to production plans, from tax and fiscal assistance to bookkeeping.
The training offer and teaching contents are planned in close synergy with the professional orders of labour consultants, with whom have also been signed memoranda of understanding aimed both at the implementation of joint training activities and at facilitating the entry of young people into the labour market.
Legal Operator in Public Administrations and Enterprises
The Curriculum offer students in-depth courses in the areas of public and administrative law, administrative law, public contracts, criminal law and administrative procedural law, within the framework of a solid basic training that is also attentive to the use of new technologies and aimed at preparing jurists capable of competently and safely performing fundamental public functions and support services for public administration activities, not only in the capacity as managers, operators, bailiffs, judicial assistants, public administration officials and executives, but also in the capacity as operators in banking, insurance and mixed company structures.
Criminology and Private Investigation Sciences
The Curriculum in Criminology and Private Investigation Sciences was first activated in the A.Y. 2023/2024, in order to meet the demands for specialised training in the field of criminological sciences, to grant a solid basic training, The curriculum includes fundamental subjects in civil, criminal and procedural law as well as law of evidence. Particular attention is paid to introduce students to the the use of new technologies as well as the latest trends in criminological sciences, forensic medicine, and criminal investigation techniques. The curriculum secures the acquisition of the knowledge and interdisciplinary skills required to understand the legal, investigative and technical-scientific aspects that characterise judicial proceedings, the field of private and defensive investigations, and the activities carried out by the State's police and military corps.
Professional opportunities are manifold and they diversify in relation to the chosen curriculum. Graduates can work as employees or in a freelance capacity in the public and private legal-administrative sphere, in public administration, companies, the third sector, international organisations, and in the legal services sector at large, in a capacity of civil servants, regional and public body officials, company legal operators and collaborators of various professionals working in the legal and economic field, and operators in the private investigation sector.
The Employment Consultant Curriculum offer a training that can be spent in the professional activities of employment consultants, aimed at the management control of the entire cycle of an employment relationship (its definition and evolution, and all its accounting, economic, legal, insurance, tax, social security and social security aspects); assisting companies in all disputes arising from employment relationships, whether salaried or self-employed; in extrajudicial disputes, in the context of which graduates in this course can offer technical consultancy.
The sectors of intervention that interest the Employment Consultant are: industry and handicrafts; commerce and services; tourism; building cooperatives; work in agriculture; entertainment work; sports work; domestic work; work at home; work abroad; foreign workers; company managers; journalists; local public bodies.
Those who choose the Public Administration Legal Operator Curriculum can take part in public competitions that require a degree in the Legal Services class, can find employment within public bodies and companies and in trade unions and business associations as a person in charge of dealing with legal profiles that do not require a Master degree.
Occupational outlets include employment in the public administration sector as a P.A. worker (civil servant holding positions of responsibility and capable of providing legal advice) and in the judiciary (court clerks and bailiffs and judicial assistants working in court offices and prison facilities).
The Criminology and Private Investigation Sciences Curriculum enables students to undertake the professions of private investigator and commercial informant in private organisations and companies, operating in the fields of investigation and security, which due to specific logistical and/or functional requirements, need the assistance of experts capable of devising, organising and managing solutions capable of meeting specific requirements (insurance companies, banks, airports, ports and in all contexts where a security system is needed to protect citizens and businesses). Occupational outlets include the ownership and management of investigative institutes and professional collaboration activities in the field of private investigations.
The private investigator's tasks include crime scene analysis,; trace detection and tracing, fact-finding techniques, analysis of telephone records, environmental remediation systems, satellite geolocation systems; corporate, commercial, and insurance investigations; and commercial intelligence gathering.
Students who obtain a degree in Employment Consultants and Legal Services Sciences have immediate access to the job market due to the high level of professionalism they acquire

The Degree Course in Labour Consultants and Legal Services Science is offered at the Messina campus of the 'S. Pugliatti' Department of Law.
The Employment Consultant Curriculum is also active at the Priolo Gargallo (SR) site, which is accredited by MIUR.
