As part of the teaching activities of the chair of Constitutional Law (Prof. Antonio Saitta), a group of students from the Department of Law annually visits the Constitutional Court, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic.
During visits to the two houses of parliament, students are guided by parliamentary officials, who explain the inner workings of the chambers. Subject to the parliamentary work schedule, it is sometimes possible to attend a sitting.
During the visit to the Constitutional Court, at the Palazzo della Consulta, the students attend a public hearing of the Court and visit part of the Palace.
The students are guided by some of the Department's Constitutional Law lecturers, who explain the workings of the Court - which includes, among other things, the research work carried out by the constitutional judges' study assistants and the way in which the Court's decisions are approved - and provide them with information about the issues dealt with in the public hearing.
At the end of the hearing, the students meet, where possible, with a constitutional judge.
