Master degree in Airline Management and Regulation of the Aviation Industry

The University of Messina - Department of Law has activated the Level I Master degree in Airline Management and Regulation of the Aviation Industry.
The Master is organised by CUST Euromed University Centre for Euro-Mediterranean Transport Studies 'E. Fanara' and the 'S. Pugliatti' Department of Law. Director: Prof. Francesca Pellegrino.

Objectives

The course aims to meet the worldwide demand for experts in airline management, providing the technical-legal and economic-managerial skills and tools needed to optimally master airline management, responding and adapting to the demands and challenges of an industry subject to constant change.
The teaching objectives of the master course are functional for entry into the world of work, with particular regard to management careers within airline companies, but also other companies, corporations or institutions in various capacities involved in air transport, as well as in the liberal professions market.

The Master degree is open to graduates (and undergraduates) at least of first level in law, economics, political science, social sciences, linguistics and humanities, engineering or other disciplines related to the topics dealt with in the master course, as well as other degrees related to the topics dealt with in the master course , with a certified knowledge of English of at least B1 level.

The curriculum is divided into 20 modules, which are: legal (shipping and transport law, labour and social security law, company law and bankruptcy law), economic (transport economics, business economics, business organisation, applied economics, business finance, business organisation, etc.), technical (transport technology, infrastructure, aerodynamics, safety management, security, flight operations, ground operations, maintenance), historical (history of aviation), etc.), and also historical (history of aviation).
The master is taught entirely online, through the use of the Microsoft Team platform, according to the weekend formula. Lessons/exercises will be held in Italian/English and will possibly take place on Friday afternoon (4 hours) and Saturday morning (4 hours).
The master course lasts one academic year and involves a commitment of 1,500 hours that include frontal lectures (276 hours: 46 CFU), internships (224 hours: 10 CFU), thesis writing and discussion (150 hours: 4 CFU) as well as individual study (850 hours). The Master degree is obtained once a student has achieved a total of 60 CFU.

The course is accredited as an executive master degree by the INPS, which has financed it with 3 scholarships, each of €3,000 (covering the full tuition fee), reserved - after selection - for civil servants.
